The fermentation and anaerobic stabilisation of the slurry and renewable crops produce a product at the end of the process called digestate. This material can be spread on the land however by separation, it gives the liquid content a higher fertiliser value, with reduced odour, and a dry manageable solid to be spread. This product falls within the NVZ rules, so there must be a check on the material output by the digester to ensure those rules are met for use on agricultural land.
